Juniors in Boating FUND DISBURSEMENT POLICY STATEMENT JUNIORS IN BOATING was created to advance the sport of competitive sailing by providing partial financial assistance to encourage sailors to travel to significant sailing competitions. JIB will consider, but not be limited to, the following priorities before granting financial assistance. EVENT PRIORITIES 1. U.S. Sailing events 2. Major junior championships events 3. International championship events 4. Seminars and clinics for juniors 5. High school sailing championship events EXPENSES SUBJECT TO FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE: 1. Travel expenses (except Southern California/local) 2. Boat transport, charter and insurance 3. Entry fee Note: JIB does not provide financial assistance for: · Housing, food or equipment expenses. · Senior one-design class events below the international level PROCEDURES 1. Requests for financial assistance should be completed and filed with the JIB corresponding Secretary within 30 days of event completion. 2. Sailors requesting financial assistance may be asked to appear before the JIB Board of Directors to answer questions pertaining to their request. The JIB Board of Directors may also request that recipients share their regatta experiences with the MBYC Junior Sailors. JIB Board of Directors will consider the following in determining levels of financial assistance: · Goals of the individual sailor(s) · Past performance · Caliber of the event · Manner in which applicant qualified for the event · Other sources of financial assistance available to applicant Click here for the Financial Assistance Form.
